                            | Why
                                Make a Will?
The obvious and perhaps most important reason to
make a Will is to ensure that the right people
inherit your estate when you die. If you do not
have a Will, the law will direct who inherits your
estate, so your friends, favourite charities may
                              get nothing.

If you are not married, it is particularly
important that you make a Will because the law
does not automatically recognise partners as
having the same rights as married couples. Even if
you have lived with your partner for many years,
your partner may be left with nothing from your
estate if you die and have not made a Will.

Making a Will is also very important if you have
children under 18 or dependants who may not be
able to care for themselves if you die. Without a
Will, there could be uncertainty about who will
care for and provide for them if you die.

Finally, a will can minimise or avoid completely
any Inheritance Tax that may be payable to the
                              government when you die.

                            | | | If you
                              have specific wishes regarding funeral
arrangements when you die or you wish to donate

there is anyone who could make a claim against
your estate when you die because they depend on
                              you financially |

have married, separated or divorced since making
your last Will. This could mean all or part of
your Will is invalid or has undesired consequences |
